Shawcam Purpose and Data Protection Statement.

Shawcam is operated by an individual person.

The Shawcam cameras are not part of a surveillance or security system.

The Shawcam cameras are not provided for a crime deterrent, crime detection nor public safety purpose.

Pictures displayed on the Shawcam website are for recreational purpose only.

Pictures are uploaded to the www.shawcam.co.uk   Internet website from cameras situated on Market Street, Shaw, Oldham, England.

The pictures uploaded from the cameras situated on Market Street, Shaw are displayed on the  www.shawcam.co.uk Internet website and are deleted from the  www.shawcam.co.uk Internet website when the succeeding  picture is uploaded. Typically the time period between successive picture uploads is no longer than 30 seconds. The pictures are not stored on the Shawcam system or elsewhere and are therefore not available for retrieval.

The Shawcam cameras provide a general view of Market Street, Shaw, Oldham, Greater Manchester. The cameras have fixed views with no PAN, TILT or ZOOM mechanisms.

The Shawcam operator has determined that with the limited scope within which the Shawcam cameras are operated there is no requirement to be registered with the Information Commissioners Office under the Data Protection Act 1998.

The Shawcam Operator follows the guidelines of the Information Commissioners Office Code of Practice.
